Haul June 2015 - MAC, Clinique, Urban Decay, L'Oreal, Make Up Store, Kicks

I haven't bought any makeup the last month and a half, which for someone like me is not the easiest thing to do and I could honestly manage not to for a while longer if I haven't stumbled upon Kick's annual sale.
For those of you who are unaware - basically Kicks is a popular chain here in Sweden and they offer popular drugstore brands as well as a lot of the high-end ones. Once per year, usually at the end of June, all the items in their online shop are discounted. The promotion lasts for a couple of months and can be combined with other discounts or vouchers, if you have such.

Usually I tend to stock up on some of my favourite MAC products, but this time around I decided to be brave and explore a few other brands which I am not that familiar with.

It is almost impossible not to notice how popular the topic of contouring has been lately. Not that long ago a good sculpting powder with the right undertone was difficult to find, today pretty much every brand under the sun has released their version of a contouring product to match the trend.

A few particular palettes from several high-end brands are mentioned constantly by bloggers and vloggers and while I sure they are just as good as everyone says they are, such palettes are definitely not the right choice for everyone.

The idea of having all of your highlighters, brightening, bronzing and contouring powders/creams in one small box is very convenient but for someone as fair as me this is not the best possible solution. I definitely do not need a few different shades of everything and I would much prefer to have just those that will match my skin tone correctly.

Of course if you are someone who likes to tan a lot, or maybe you use a sunless tanner often, such a palette would be an excellent choice and I perfectly understand why you would be needing it.

Summer is officially here, at least in Sweden, where today the temperatures are in the higher 20's - very untypical, so I decided it is only appropriately to share what product has won my heart over the past weeks.

I am not one to spend crazy money on high-end cosmetics, I have my reasons for that, which I am not going to bore you with, but I could say that my interest is mostly geared towards brands in the middle price range.

Of course I can appreciate a nice luxury product and as a make up lover I do treat myself from time to time with something a little bit more expensive. I tend to choose my products rather carefully and usually I settle either for unique items, which are not duped by a cheaper brand or for those who caught my interest and I just can't pass by.

Glossybox Sweden - May 2015

I received my May Glossybox a couple of weeks ago and to be honest I was not very excited by the contents. The products themselves are not bad, they simply do not match my needs and taste. I am not too bothered by it since I am perfectly aware of how such subscriptions services work but the excitement is just not there this time and you will definitely notice that by my review.

The theme this month was - Summer Countdown and it suggested some exciting and colourful products, sadly in the box, I did not find anything that I could remotely even connect to it. Not that it really matters but it just adds to the disappointment.
